Communities In Schools (CIS) believes that caring, one-on-one relationships between adults and young people make the crucial difference. Programs don’t change kids – relationships do. CIS creates comprehensive, locally controlled and owned support systems around schools. In partnership with the local system, CIS identifies the most critical needs of students and families – needs that are preventing children from succeeding in school, and in life.
CIS fuels personal potential, so every student can take charge of their story and define their success for life.

Our unique model centers on having a dedicated, full-time social service professional on every campus we serve. We build relationships with businesses, volunteers, and partners to bring community resources to the school campus. These additional supports allow us to ensure that students get the exact services they need.

Friday night was a blooming success! 🌼🌿 Families joined us for a fun gardening class where we learned why native plants are important for our environment. Afterward, everyone got their hands messy, painting colorful rocks to decorate the school garden. 🎨 Thanks to all the parents and students who came out, especially Ms. Araguz, Site Coordinator from Champion Elementary, for coordinating this engaging activity. #CIS -BISD

A huge shoutout to our wonderful host, Site Coordinator Mr. Recio from Ben Brite Elementary — you made the day unforgettable for our families 🏁🎉 We`re so proud of all the students who raced and represented their schools with pride. We would like to express our gratitude to Walmart (LF), the LFHS-NHS and the LFHS-CTE Department for their recent generous donations towards our Life-Saver boxes for CIS-LFHS students and their families that suffered damages from the recent flooding.
Boxes included water, hygiene, cleaning products, and food. Wal-Mart also added a bag full of groceries & a gift card. Our families were grateful. #allinforthekids
